The Hymn To Freedom Project

is a community project coordinated by Lauris DaCosta in partnership with the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre and made possible by the work of an extensive group of volunteers and community sponsors.

Land Acknowledgement

We live and work on land that is the traditional home of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Neutral People. This land within the Haldimand tract is promised to the Six Nations and takes in six miles on each side of the Grand River. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions Indigenous peoples have made in shaping and strengthening this community. We are grateful for the opportunity to live and work here and re-affirm our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of Truth and Reconciliation real in our community.
